Throw at me barbs, thorns,Whatever you will, to hurt,It’s what my soul thirsts.

Ready the popcorn,Feet tucked warm ‘neath the blanket,Eyes closed in horror.

The pink candy floss,Dies an unnatural death,Claimed by a puddle.

Sleeplessness aboundsIn cities around the world,While hamlets repose.

The cat on the prowlLed by its belly’s rumble,Knows no barrier.

Words can sow love too,Just as they can inflict hurt –Which ones will you choose?

The sun does its thing,Rising, shining, and setting,And the world goes on.

The bright summer dawn,Yields defeat to wintry onesNuked by a warm bed.

When a smile beguiles,Does evil lurk behind it?Read between the lips.
