Chasing Sunshine

Where does this love grow?
In hearts that yearn to share joy,
E’en a potato.

What is the reason
For the season, do you ask?
It’s got to be love.

There is wonder here,
Plentifully – for children,
Hold space for belief.

The child who got all
Their wishes for Christmas, prayed,
That it would last long.

Who stole the cookie,
From the cookie jar? Was it,
Santa or his elves?

Can a reindeer fly,
Pulling a sled through the sky?
Santa’s got ‘xplaining.

You wrap gifts, bake cakes,
Sing songs, become Santa’s elf,
And wait for the end.

Festivities much,
What hides behind the glow though?
One may never know.
